According to Sky sources, Palace have agreed a fee with West Ham for Sakho understood to be between £10m and £12m.

West Ham are holding out for a feee in the region of £12million for the Senegal international, who is yet to start a single game for United this season due, it is thought, to a clause in his contract guaranteeing him a bumper bonus should he be selected in a starting XI.

West Ham are happy to offload Sakho as he is well down the pecking order in David Moyes' first-team plans at the London Stadium. He has seen his opportunities limited and has been used largely as a substitute this season. However, the English tactician insisted on not giving updates on their pursuit of the former Metz striker.

Meanwhile, Palace will be desperate to deepen their attacking options with the club still in a relegation battle.

Niasse was never expected to be a prominent figure at Goodison Park but he is the Toffee's third top scorer and has scored six goals in the five games he has started.

If he manages to sell Sakho for the reported fee of £10 million, he will be in a strong position to bring in some of his key targets. "We have known almost from the moment I came to the club that we were light in certain areas. We don't want to bring players in for the sake of bringing them in".
