At least 20 killed & injured in suicide bombing in Afghan capital Kabul

No group has claimed the responsibility of the attack yet.

Kabul police spokesman Basir Mujahid said: 'He detonated his vest very close to police who were trying to stop the protesters'.

The attack took place in the eastern part of the Afghan capital where dozens of security officers had gathered to protect a demonstration.

Earlier, a public health official told local media that 11 people, including five police personnel, were killed and 20 others injured after the explosion in the crowded area. No group has yet claimed that attack.

According to the reports, police officials have not commented on the incident so far.

The casualties have been confirmed by Kabul Police.

But experts say IS operates several cells in the city, enabling the group to plan and carry out attacks under the noses of Afghan security and intelligence agencies.
