The Golden Knights compiled a 13-0 record.

White said the school is doling out national championship bonuses that's called for in the contracts of the football staff. The Knights were the only undefeated team in the country and the highest-scoring team in the nation and yet they were ignored by the College Football Playoff Cartel, er, Committee. "I think it's pretty cool that they have that kind of confidence in our group, and I agree with them".

UCF feels its accomplishment in winning the American Athletic Conference championship was undervalued by the CFP selection committee, which listed the Knights 12th in the panel's final rankings. Why did it happen?

Alabama entered 3-4 on the season and was hosting UCF as its homecoming opponent.

Just ask then-UCF coach Scott Frost.

And while it was an unforgettable season, the Knights aren't stopping the momentum.

We can't find the odds, but our pick for the traditional Gatorade bath is "Other", equivalent to betting the field in horse racing. "I'm not sure the system doesn't need some fixing". Murray's desperation pass to the end zone on fourth down was batted down as time expired.

That's why Frost claimed there was a "concerted effort" to keep the Knights out of the top four.

This doesn't have anything to do with 2017, but it's a pretty fun footnote to add to UCF's title claim.

Particularly, when CFP executive director Bill Hancock tries to justify UCF getting snubbed by saying, "It all comes down to who you play".

Alabama and Georgia play at 8 p.m.

Rick Scott declared the undefeated team "national Champions in Florida" on Monday through a proclamation ahead of celebrations in Orlando for the players and coaching staff.

Even though they weren't in the playoff, UCF played the Auburn Tigers in the Peach Bowl. Frost spent much of the afternoon as a guest analyst on television for the National Championship Game. Aided by Mike Dubose's tackle-optional buffoonery, Ryan Schneider eviscerated the Tide on Homecoming.

UCF football fans on Sunday packed the hometown theme park emblematic of championship celebrations, cheering their team's Cinderella season near Cinderella's castle at Disney World in Orlando.

And college football's national champion is... UCF?

Beyond the local support, fans also hope to see UCF football taken more seriously on a national level.
